The Drive to Fight Food Insecurity.
We believe that our communities are what makes us stronger, and that giving back is what brings us together. We are proud to be part of vibrant local communities, and we recognize the ongoing need to combat food insecurity among families and children. The Keep Driving Foundation has partnered with multiple organizations to work towards ending food insecurity in the communities where we do business. By partnering with these dedicated organizations, we are striving to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who are facing food insecurity, and to build stronger, more resilient communities.
Food Security: Progress and Achievements so far.
With great pride, we can share that through our dealership partners we have provided over 300,000 meals to those in need, making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families facing food insecurity. Knowing that our actions have helped alleviate hunger and nourished those who are struggling motivates us to continue our efforts in ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry. It's a shared passion that unites us, and we find fulfillment in making a positive impact on our community and beyond.
Our Partners in Food Security
Full Plates Full Potential is on a mission to end childhood food insecurity in Maine, and they're just getting started. Born of the idea that no child should grow up hungry, they take a collaborative approach to effect lasting change and they believe that solutions are within reach.
Their strategy is to maximize access to USDA Child Nutrition Programs - commonly known as school lunch, school breakfast, afterschool meals, and summer meals - which promise free meals to every child who needs them, and Maine kids need them. Their youth suffer the highest rate of child food insecurity in New England. Prior to the pandemic, 80,000 Maine kids relied on school meals daily. Due to economic hardships caused by COVID-19, the number of children experiencing food insecurity, statewide, has increased significantly.
School meals are the cornerstone of combating food insecurity for Maine kids. Sadly, too many face barriers to accessing these meals. Full Plates works to remove logistical and social barriers by providing technical and financial assistance to schools and communities across the state to help feed kids now, while advocating for systemic changes necessary to ensure that all Maine children have consistent access to nutritious meals.
NH Hunger Solutions is an advocate to end food insecurity, improve access to nutritious food, and address hunger’s root causes for all New Hampshire residents.
Their Vision: Hunger is eliminated in New Hampshire
In order to achieve our mission and vision, NH Hunger Solutions focuses on these four priority areas:
- Engage in policy advocacy to close the gap between those eligible for and those enrolled in federal nutrition programs (SNAP, School Meals, Summer Meals, WIC).
- Work with schools and communities to increase participation in school meals.
- Increase public awareness of the causes of and solutions to hunger in New Hampshire.
- Engage in coalition building among existing and emerging food access councils and coalitions.
Hunger Free Vermont believes no one should worry about where their next meal will come from. Food is a right — and we all deserve to have dignified, stable ways to put food on our tables every day, no matter what challenges we are facing.
Since 1993 they have collaborated with community partners across the state to make transformative and lasting change by addressing social and economic policies and how they really work in our communities, schools, and homes. They are working to end hunger in Vermont, permanently.
Food Bank Of The Rockies provides food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming, the largest food bank coverage area in the contiguous United States. They believe that for a community to thrive, every member must have the resources they need to flourish, and they strive to provide equitable access to proper nourishment for all.
They are the largest hunger-relief organization in the Rocky Mountain region. That makes them uniquely suited to answer the enormous challenge of hunger. Since 1978, they've put the power of community to work for our neighbors in need. "Through partnerships. Through programs. Through people. Through you."
Food Bank Of The Rockies has distributed upwards of 178,000 meals every day. But for those in need, they provide more than just food. They give hope and open a future. Because when you can’t provide for your family today, it’s hard to even think about tomorrow.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee opened its doors in 1978 with commitment from several community leaders. The purpose of the organization was to provide a central distribution center for companies, groups, and individuals who wished to help provide food for hungry people in Middle Tennessee.
Modeled after the first food bank established in Phoenix in the mid-1960s, Second Harvest was designed to collect food that would otherwise be wasted, inspect and sort this food, and distribute it to soup kitchens, pantries, and shelters serving Tennesseans experiencing hunger. During the first year, Second Harvest distributed 160,000 pounds of food to 75 member agencies.
Today Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one of the largest and most comprehensive of more than 200 food banks and food distribution centers nationwide. During FY22, Second Harvest distributed more than 41.6 million pounds of food to more than 450 Partner Agencies, providing more than 35.2 million meals to hungry children, families, and seniors throughout our 46-county service area
